EG-110
OMZ mining equipment and engineering  (Uralmash-Izhora Group) have designed a new model of hydraulic shovel - EG-110.  The prototype model – EG-5.5 is in operation since September 2002 on OOO PG Fosforit mine, loading ores, digging of drains and cleaning up of phosphate bottoms. The shovel design is of modular structure. The shovel involves three basic parts: frame of carrier, revolving frame and working equipment which after partial dismantling may be delivered to the operation site by motor or railway transport. EG-110 is equipped with working equipment "shovel", at the customer's request this model may be also equipped with working equipment "backhoe".

The shovel is designed taking into account the field experience of EG-5.5 and includes the following enhancements. One diesel YaMZ-8506.10 (450 kW) is used instead of power unit with two diesels YaMZ-238 (175 kW) (excavator capacity has increased). Gear-motors of motion and rotation drives, main hydro pumps and flow control equipment produced by Rexroth (number of hydro motors and hydro pumps has decreased twice. It is equipped with heat exchanger HudakInternational. The EG-110 model has improved hydro station (including hydro tank). Mounting of hydraulic equipment and arrangement of pipelines on revolving frame have been optimized (reliability of hydraulic system has increased). Two similar hydraulic cylinders of the stick (instead of different) applyed resulting in rise of stick rotation torque by 30%. Eg-110 is equipped with two-seated cab instead of single-seated. Thus, it is available for representatives of maintenance service to examine serviceability  of equipment. Fuel sufficient for 20 hours of continuous operation (instead of 12 hours). Computerized diagnostics is a distinctive feature of EG-110, thus the hydraulic system and diesel can be diagnosed to prevent failures.       Application of main hydraulic equipment and gear-motor drives Bosh-Rexroth will allow to raise service life of the shovel 3 to 4 times, to increase the productivity up  to 860 m³/h (with dipper 5.5 m³) and to raise the technical readiness coefficient up to K_r 0.95.

The shovel will be applied on the enterprises where EKG-5A are run nowadays and also at the enterprises where are required self-contained operation, selectivity and mobility. EG-110 is a worthy competitor to imported hydraulic machines.
